Only 24 Hours To Go!!

At 8 am this morning we had 160 nautical miles to go to Nuku Hiva, Marquesas.  We plan to arrive there at sunrise on Sunday morning, which is 5am local time and 8am Pacific time.

We actually had to slow the boat down last night so we would not arrive in the middle of the night on Saturday.  It’s a new island for us, and we do not want to attempt an approach and anchor there in the dark.  We will be slowing the boat down today as well, since there is more wind than what was forecasted…

The seas have become very lumpy again, so it is not super comfortable on board with the boat bouncing everywhere, even when we slow down.  Its definitely getting to be tiring just trying to hang on.  We got spoiled with the calm seas of the last few days.  We are all looking forward to standing on solid land and going for a walk that is longer than 40 feet!

We will be posting photos as soon as we see land.  It is going to be epic to see and smell land!  It been nearly 19 days at sea!
