LAND HO!!

We made it! We first picked up land on our radar around 4 am Pacific time, 1:30am local. The sun came up around 6am local, and we got our first visual glimpse of LAND! And what an amazing and beautiful place that laid before us. Catalina could not take her eyes off of it, and neither could we. We dropped anchor in Controller Bay, Nuku Hiva, Marqueses at 8:30am local time. We had reached the most remote island chain on THE PLANET and had sailed 18.5 days, over 3,000 miles, to get here.

And at that point, exhaustion set in. I was TOTALLY DONE! Both Chris and I had no energy left!

Jade served us an delicious pancake breakfast. Then it was getting the dinghy inflated and in the water. We were off to shore.

Stepping onto land after nearly 18 days on a rolling bouncing boat is a surreal experience. You actually get "land drunk", unable to stay upright or walk a straight line. Your body is so used to moving it gets on a stationary place, and it still feels like you are moving. So crazy.

It pretty late here now. I have been so exhausted all day I was not even up for posting this message. There will be more to come over the next couple of days, but for now, here are a few photos.

THANK YOU to all of you who have followed us. We have felt your support, love and prayers, and it means SO MUCH to us. We are beyond grateful to have the opportunity to share this adventure with you all!
